It's the first of the proper Beastway series this Wednesday at Hog Hill, an easy going fun series of MTB races that challenge the normal expectations of racing the Hoggenberg. One is expected to climb the wretched hill at least 3 times every lap - loads of fun.
Perfectly feasible to ride to the races and almost it's almost as quick (1 1/2 hours easy going from Brixton) as driving.

Anyone else racing tonight? I'm riding out from the City. If anyone else is doing the same let me know.

Should be there, driving up.
It's likely to be a mudfest again, it's been raining pretty hard today.

Not going to make it tonight now as stuck at work. Enjoy the mud and will hopefully be there next week.

Good turn out last night at Beastway - 6 riders in light blue enjoyed a really decent flowing course with not so much grubbing around the bushes.
Some decent results with a second in the youths from Ed Davies.

I'd planned to do this until a trip over the bars last week, which means no off road for a while. Good luck gentlemen, ladies and youths!
I'm selling my racing Hard tail if anyone's interested. Would suit the non techninal nature of the Beastway perfectly! I've purchased a full suspension 29 for next years Pioneer ... anyone else keen?

Ben emailed me this morning to rub it in my face about how good the course was and how dry it all was, typical. Results up, well done to Ben and James who slogged it up there, it looks like half of the field didn't even bother turning up due to probably the same line of thinking as mine: www.webscorer.com/race?raceid=71065

That sure was a muddy race last night. Woke up all the neighbours at half ten last night with the pressure washer, I'm sure I'm the most hated person on my street this morning. Alvaro
