Hi all
I've been silly enough to sign up for La Marmotte next week. And, as usual, I've left my organisation to the last minute. I've checked with DJB and all the club boxes are booked up. No surprises there.
Have any generous DP riders out there got a bike box they would be prepared to lend me? I need one from this coming Tues 28th until the following Tuesday 5th July.
Otherwise - recommendations for a good, cheap one would be welcomed too.

Just to piggyback on to this. I'm off to Sydney in September for a six month secondment with work and am in the market for a second hand bike box/bag if anybody has one for sale.

As a quick fix, I have flown a few times with a bike repackaged in a normal cardboard bike box. Most bike shops are happy to give away the boxes that their stock come in, sometimes with assorted packaging as well. Pack it sensibly with lots of bubblewrap and tape and you shouldn't have any issue. I have done this with EasyJet and RyanAir (who don't exactly have the best of reputations) without a hitch.

I have a rather large cardboard bike box which I received from Dolan-Bikes last November for the delivery of my TT bike which I can offer gratis to anyone who may want it. It can be described as quite big but not burdensome and will be able to transport safely a full bike without much fiddling and probably any extras like clothing, helmets etc. I am in Clapham South so you'd have to pick-up.
