We just received the email below.
Cycling on the pavement is illegal and makes us all look very bad, let alone swearing at pedestrians whilst you do it!
If the culprits are identified their membership may be cancelled and they may be banned from the club. The police have said that they may be doing spot checks in future.
I ride a bike and understand how frustrating it is being caught behind traffic but there is no excuse for two riders to come up hill on pavement and then tell woman pushing pram to " f...... get out of the way".
This happened on Monday 18th July.
One of the riders on a Condor bike was wearing your club kit , his partner was riding a Canyon.
Off course passers- by were then complaining about "f.....g cyclists ...".
They then parked up in Cadence and i could not stop as in car caught up in traffic.
This does no good to yourselves or bike riders in general.
Thanks John W Smith

Maybe we could put a public notice up asking all cyclist to respect the law and pedestrians by not riding on the pavement.

Or alternatively, just make the footpath a strava segment so it's easier to name and shame..

If you can work out who it was (with reasonable proof) then ban them immediately and put a public statement staying that unfortunately 2 riders were ejected from the club for this reason. It is the only option for maintaining the reputation of the club.
Riding up the pavement on Anerly has been warned against many times and abusive language toward pedestrians while doing it makes it unforgivable (seriously, what happened to excuse me?).
That said I see a lot of riders on the pavement as you approach Cadence, the good news is that they are very rarely Dulwich.
