Today some pervert decided he'd like to discreetly film me, following me from one side of the Greenwich foot Tunnel to the other. Not from afar either - he wanted close-ups.
I may look good in Lycra - or perhaps he just loved Dulwich kit - but I'm concerned his actions weren't a one off occurrence.
I've reported the incident to the police, but I doubt it will go very far.
The incident took place at 1710 tonight.
The culprit was waiting at the north entrance and followed me through the tunnel the whole way.
I got to the Greenwich side and pretended to mess with my bike to see what he did and he stood right near me with a handheld camera pointing at me.
When I was sure what he was up to, I called him up on it and he panicked and left in a hurry.
He is around 5'10", white, early 30s and looks a bit ratty. He was wearing a cap and a rucksack.
Just be careful using the tunnel and if you think you see the guy, keep an eye on him - he may well be filming you or someone else.
Just wanted to share to make people aware.
If I see him again his camera is going in the Thames...

If you see him again, take out your phone and get a photo of him.
Not only will it make identifying him easy but it's also reversing the roles/power in the situation, making him the object being observed, and he will not like that one bit.
Also, the tunnel has cctv throughout so he should have been recorded.

The police have a full description and cctv for identification.
I think that's sound advice.
Personally I didn't feel the need to reverse the role - I felt capable enough to confront him without a camera.
If I see him again I'll be calling the police and making sure he stays put til they arrive.
I wish I'd have done so this time. The only reason I didn't was because at the time it didn't really bother me - plenty of people see me in Lycra - but I was concerned that it might escalate or effect someone else to a greater extent or in a more serious form, so I called the police when I got home.

Of course. He'd have been running quickly with his camera otherwise! 😂

Thanks for the heads up Joe- I'm a regular tunnel user, never seen this guy, but good to know.
