I need to buy a club shirt and possibly shorts. Any advice on sizing from women members. I am a size 16, tall and slim build. 14 trouser size, 1.8 m
I am thinking XL ?
p.s. if anyone has any suplus kit they want to sell on let me know.

Hi Jane, If you are going for the FRC kit I would think certainly XL or even XXL; I bought the large a few years ago and havent really worn it because is too tight for me. The FRC tops also come up small; I bought the large as well and fits better than the shorts but is very skin tight. I'm similar height to you and size 12 trousers normally. Kathryn

I echo Kathryn's comments, the tops come up small (and short if you're tall). I'm a 12 top and have the standard XL short sleeve and long sleeve jersey (although the long sleeve is more a 3/4 length sleeve on me) which fit ok but they are still pretty tight around the shoulders and neck. Not tried the shorts.

Thanks for the advice, I am tempted to just get mens so they fit, I have second hand mens shorts and gilet and they are fine.

Hi Jane, I'm 5'11" and the women's jerseys come up too short on me so I get the men's. Typically they are one size off from the men's. i.e the L women's would be similar to M men's (but longer and more of a straight cut.) I find the women's shorts fit okay though. (Just come up a bit shorter on me...) The women's gilet is long enough too.
Hope that helps.

Jane
Worse case scenario is that you can change the kit for a different size should it not fit.
It's interesting to note that the men's shirts are 'deemed' a better fit and most on this thread have brought men's FRC kit in preference to the women's fit - leads me to ponder whether it is worth continuing to stock womens FRC (Race) shirts.
Any views?
Charlie

But Charlie the women answering this thread are tall, like Jane the original poster...All at least 5'10, so for us the men's kit fits better as the ladies' is too short for us. Giordanna follows the Italian mentality that all women are very petite. So for the petite women in the club...Of which there are also quite a few, the women's FRC is better. They just didn't answer this thread as it was about larger sizes. Keep the ladies FRC.

Definitely keep it. In fact I heard some men order them too... or was that the female skinsuit for enhanced aerodynamic?

Speaking for the shorties amongst us who...how do I put this...are generously endowed, I can confirm that the men's jerseys finish somewhere round mid thigh and make me look like a sack of spuds with no waist. Horses for courses - no one size fits all woman

No sizes at all fit me being tall and narrow! XS men's top is still rather flappy round the shoulders despite my best efforts at Body Pump...

I sympathise Sarah, womens XL short arrived and pad is too narrow front to back, plus they are too short in the body. Maybe kit supremo can discuss sizing when kit next reviewed.
