Incredibly brief one - that Ed is causing trouble in the Crits and stealing hard earned places from his elders and less fast - a 3rd place in a 3/4 cat race this week at Cyclopark - careful lad, you’ll be a 2nd cat before you know it.
Meanwhile, Arnav is planning a moderately long off road adventure along Tajiistan’s Pamir Highway in the summer ( no - he will not be back in Cafe Paradou by 1pm and he will be allowed a rucksack and no doubt he will have the name of his Mummy or Daddy on a piece of paper in back pocket just in case he needs rescuing). He’s looking for advice, help and financial support, so anyone with some bright ideas please shout.
Rides this weekend
Saturday 18th February - Youth and Junior CX Ride

We will be leading a road ride this weekend - route will ne dependant on who turns up, but will be 30 miles plus at a steady pace.
Sunday 19Th February - Sunday DP ride
I’m planning to riding this week - meet at 9 am at Cafe St Germain (next door to Paradou) and I’ll be happy to look after strong Youth and Junior riders only - estimate this ride will be approx 60 miles taken at an adult pace.
Part or all of these rides will be be on road so normal packdrill required
HHYCC/DP and BC membership required
Bring spare inner tubes
Do a bike check prior to leaving
Wear suitable clothes for the season
Food (snacks - not 4 course lunch) and liquid
Telephone number of your parent/rescuer in your back pocket.
All this should fit in pockets in your jersey - no suitcases pls.
Youth and Junior Discussion Group
A heads up - Geoff and I are planning to hijack part of the next HHYCC AGM (due sometime in March) to have an informal meeting with parents and riders who want to join the combined HHYCC/DP youth program. We want to use this meeting to encourage riders to join us and for parents to understand what we are doing and how they can help support their child/youth/young adult and the group as a whole.
March Mid Week Sessions - Juniors and strong Youths
Wednesday evening - Join the Dulwich Paragon Road Chain Gang
Thursday evening - Help establish the new DP Off road Chain Gang
Forthcoming races - while you lot (and your parents) deserve a break, add to calendar a rather good MTB race in MSG series on the 26th Feb at the Stratford.
