My girlfriend is trying out riding and experimenting with saddles. Does anyone have a women's saddle lying around, perhaps from a new bike build? The wider and comfier the better. Thanks.

Hmmn I've a couple spare but I dismissed them for being too narrow. Does your gf have partic wide sitting bones? If they're on the wider side, she's welcome to try sitting on my bikes- not 'comfy' in the lots of plush padding sense, but from the right width. I also have a more squishy one borrowed from another club member (still, ahem, sorry!) which is a bit squishier and medium wide.
This reminds me - been meaning to suggest setting up a DPCC ladies' (and mens' too if there's demand) saddle library - as personally i've had such trouble finding the perfect perch...

I just bought a basic fizik arrione donna, plan to fit tonight and can feed back if more comfy than previous mens saddles. Personally I found that just doing more riding helped, not sure if my back got more flexible or I just toughened up, plus good bibs make a difference.

Hi Sara and Jane, Thanks for the advice and suggestions, good stuff. Might just hold on until someone's got something they're not going to need. The saddle library would be a good idea!

I have a saddle lying around that's pretty padded and comfy - saw me through a cobbled sportive last year and plenty of long weekend rides. I was recommended it when I got a bike fit, but then ended up going for a saddle fitting and getting something a bit slimmer. Your girlfriend is welcome to try it out - send me a message and we can arrange collection.
