Help! Bike mechanic has found a crack in the right side crank meaning I need an entire new crankset... It's currently Ultegra 6700 but guessing that any Shimano of same length (172.5cm) would do. Urgent as was hoping to pack bike for Taiwan this evening - and need to let shop know whether to order the part from Shimano by 2pm (rather not spend that much...) Apparently I'm much more powerful than I thought. Either that or the airline managed to break it through my Bike Box Alan... Meh. Calling david emery!

I've got a near new 6700 Ultegra 6700 chainset but pretty sure it's 165mmm - if that's of use? I can recommend going with shorter cranks btw but that's another discussion!

Actually... I've got 2. They're both earlier than 6700 (6650?) but they'll be fine. Also got a 105 triple if you want to make life on that Taiwanese monster climb a little easier. Your problem is you're all torque....

Thanks guys. I'm downgrading to 105 courtesy of wiggle next day delivery... but if that fails I might be testing your theory David E or your vintage wares DJB!

Hmm don't think triple would fit. Maybe I need to beg a 10sp 32+ cassette and long derrailleur?!

ps you can probably get away with the current rear derailleur and 32T if you screw the b-tension all the way in or from reverse ... so try that before buying a new rear.
