Can anyone recommend a good set of lights for winter commuting? I have some Lezyne rechargeable ones but the charge life is a bit pathetic. Grateful for any suggestions.

Thank you! I'm glad I'm not the only one to struggle with the rechargeable ones

Other nice thing about the ones that take AA/AAA is that they are cheap, I put a zip tie round so they cannot be taken off without a bit of effort and just leave them on. So far none have gone missing in 5 years of London commuting.

Get last years models, massively discounted with as many Lumens as you can get.
I've had mixed success with Exposure over the years. I still have a set o Ayups that are brilliant (but not cheap) and a Moon front / rear. Get the one's made for Mountain biking ... you can actually see where you're going if travelling at 25-30km/h

ps when I lived in Germany, every one I knew used MyTinySun. Although I've not looked at their range for quite a few years

I've been using Exposure Sirius for about a year, highly recommended. Have them on for daylight rides as well as night, charge weekly.

I am very fond of my exposure lights. Have a joystick front and trace r rear. They are super bright, great battery and loads of good features. I particularly like that they almost never cut out because they have a very gradual power down once the battery is low. They aren't Cheap but I've had them at least twice as long as any other lights. Tough as nails.

I find rechargeable's are great for back lights on flashing but for a constant beam at the front not to great ...

I commuted for ages with a £30 pair of FWE usb rechargeable ones and never had any issue - just charged them at my desk once a week. Wouldn't want to use them outside the city at night, mind.

Exposure sirrus on the front i cannot recommend enough, managed to get the older model reduced down from £99 to £40 in summer, when these things are cheaper. stuck with the Lezyne strip pro for the rear, 100 lumens daylight flash is enough for 3 45 mins commute
