Hi,
As some may know I've joined the club committee to take on the newsletter role which also comes with a brief for the website and information... more on that below.
But the immediate purpose of this post was WhatsApp, which many of us use for chats, rides and information. There are lots of groups and it's an invaluable tool but often a hidden one. I'm sure you've all been in conversations where a group chat is mentioned and someone else says "Oh, is there a group?". Well, I have anyway...
So I though it would be useful to have a thread where people can list their WhatsApp group and how to join.
Basically post your group name, a brief description and (assuming it's not secret) how to join i.e. who to contact or if you're an admin then an invite link.
We may even highlight some in newsletters or on the website if people want to do that.
Which leads nicely to the newsletter 'Paragon News' and website.
Most of it is quite de-centralised with people looking after their own areas (and long may it remain that way !). With help from Patrick, Jules Joseph and Martin Headon we're just getting to grips with web things at the moment - if you have any burning thoughts feel free to share them here or PM me, but we'll probably come back with a more structured set of questions once we know what we can and can't do.
Same with the newsletter, if you have ideas or requests then please let me know. Mostly it's letting other people write about what they know but as I have a journalist background I don't mind broadening the scope a bit if people have ideas for content, articles etc. which maybe we could tie in with the website.
Cheers, Chris

Hi Chris, I think this is a good idea. As a new member I have been wondering why there is little activity on the forum/DPNC google group and I have figured out it's because there are WhatsApp groups for different rides. I understand that people like riding with people they know and trust but I think if the groups were listed and then they were up front about the rules (speed, distance, stopping etc.) then it shouldn't cause too much hassle to the people in those groups.

It's been posted separately in Training but Martin Headon has set up a Zwift users group - or even if you're just Zwift curious ! Click here for the invite link, or message him to be added.

Hi all, I've setup a Dulwich Paragon Road Racing WhatsApp group to coordinate travel and entry to races. I'm aware there are multiple social WhatsApp groups that already exist, this is aimed specifically at road racing with an ambition to have consistent teams in Regional A races and select National B races. If you would like to be added to this group please DM me. We also have a Facebook page setup to help share upcoming races and training. www.facebook.com/groups/dulwichparagonracing/
