I'm having some trouble with my smart trainer and I want to benchmark the power output against another powermeter to see if it is faulty
Does anyone have a powertap wheel or some other easily transferable powermeter I could borrow for a day or two to use as a comparison ?

Interested to know how you get on Aaron (and what the solution is) . Pretty sure My Tacx vortex reads about 20 Watts more than my stages. Which is good for my ego but less so my fitness.

If you use Trainer Road for turbo workouts, you can use powermatch, which means it takes data from your Stages and uses that to adjust the resistance on the Tacx. So you can keep it consistent with what you get out on the road. Doesn't work with Zwift though.

There's also a video here that goes into detail about calibrating the Tacx Vortex: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsFLtiGildAIncidentally, in case anyone else was wondering, I asked Trainerroad and it doesn't make any difference if you do the spindown calibration through Trainerroad or using the Tacx app.

tldr;
warm up your tyre for a few minutes before the calibration.
