Following a few years off having kids and riding around on an uninspiring hybrid with child seat my wife wants to get back into cycling properly. She’s a sucker for a classic steel frame though so I’m looking for a high ish end quality leroica style road bike. Doesn’t need to actually be vintage but needs to have that look. She’s around 5ft 8 tall. Hopefully I can avoid having to delve into eBay hell....
Cheers!

Hi Andy, My mother has her old Peugeot ladies frame which she has been wanting to find a good home for...the frame is good but is certainly a project as it was benefit new groupset wheels etc to turn it into a nice bike. I'll try and get her to send a pic of it and also measure the toptube size. It seems very fitting that it goes to you if suitable as you were kind enough to give her a turbo trainer to get her back to fitness after a broken leg!

how about a brand new, still in the box Kona Roadhouse frame size 52 ... made from Reynolds 853, carbon fork, takes disc brakes. perfect for 5'8.
Ive got the 54cm as well as a full bike. They're lovely to ride
Else, I can recommend a Ritchey Road Logic 2.0 - old school looks, modern quality and rides fantastically.

Ah thanks - The Richie might be a go-er David. Do you have one? Or just a recco?

Ah thanks - The Richie might be a go-er David. Do you have one? Or just a recco? I sold it earlier this year, but couldn't recommend it more highly. Stick a decent group set and wheels on it and she'll never need a carbon bike, as they can be built pretty light too

Ah thanks kathryn! Be awesome to see it. Here it is, like I said frame is good and vintage but to turn into a decent bike it's a project.

She was 5'5 when she rode this bike...but she was at the smaller end of its range . (She is littler now thanks to osteoporosis but doesn't ride it anymore).

Looks great Kathryn - would be ideal commuter but she’s after something a little racier and shinier at the mo. Thanks so much for sharing x
