Following on from Esther's post we are running coached road race skills training sessions for both women and men this winter. They will run on/at the same dates and venues as each other but women and men will be coached in separate groups. £5 per person per session. Women will be coached by the excellent Jen George. Men will be coached by a professional, TBA. These will be all abilities sessions. We will aim to cater for both those looking to improve race technique/tactics and those who want to get better/more confident at riding in the bunch. A great learning opportunity in advance of next year's season or just to get some winter riding in on ice, pothole and traffic-free roads. Dates and venues: 9 Dec, Cyclopark, 10am to 12pm, plus an hour in the 'classroom' 12 Jan, Lee Valley Velopark 11am to 1pm, plus an hour in the 'classroom' 27 Jan, Redbridge Cycling Centre (Hog Hill) 11am to 1pm, plus an hour in the 'classroom' Sign on via RiderHQ: www.riderhq.com/events/83185/dpcc-winter-2019-road-race-skills-training-1-of-3www.riderhq.com/events/83186/dpcc-winter-2019-road-race-skills-training-2-of-3www.riderhq.com/events/83187/dpcc-winter-2019-road-race-skills-training-3-of-3

Thanks for a great session today all. If you attended one of these, please feel free to post any feedback here - it will be useful for organising future training sessions.

Jen and Paul led another imaginative and damn useful skills session :-) ...kept us all warm
this time on a gusty Hog Hill
another series might help attract others to racing... er, maybe more end-game (sprint) sessions. the slalom jiggle then eat-the-front-wheel deserves a repeat (selecting a different gear each time helps to warn about spinning-out and death grind) as does the hoggenberg hold-back-then-launch (into a flippin' head-on wind)
big thanks to Esther for arranging this, and the club for the generous support... and obviously Jen and Paul for delivering
