Mat Hammond got knocked off his bike yesterday (Sunday 1st Sept) at the roundabout at bottom of Corkscrew Hill and has a broken scapula (amongst other cuts and bruises).
He emailed this morning, as he was down to race at the LVRC RR next Sunday: "I'm ok. Managed to get a good night sleep and woken up in less pain than last night so that's all good. Police were in attendance and driver was insured so hopefully I'll be able to cover any damage to kit etc. Probably nothing else club can do (wasn't in club kit fortunately!) although might be worth flagging that there has been another incident at that roundabout."
Get well soon Mat

Thanks. It's a dodgy roundabout that one. Shouldn't be, but some drivers are pretty bad, as we all know! Take care all, hope to be back on the road in a month or two.

Bad luck Mat, and welcome to the Scapula club!
You’ll be back soon, strong as ever.

Wasn't that the same roundabout that wiped out Javier Rodriguez?
Cars are always taking the roundabout at speed from Coney Village and its easy to approach it whilst being in their blindspot.. be very careful.

Matt, I’m sorry to hear this. I hope you recover soon. Let me know if you need anything.
Michael, sadly it seems to be the same roundabout.
