The people over at Herne Hill velodrome are holding a workshop (I think just for women, as it's straight after the Sunday women's session, sorry) on how to plan your winter training. Sam Holden, who runs a lot of the Sunday track training sessions, will talk about how to set up your own training plan, whether that's aiming for women's track league (one of the riders there made a nice vlog about the round last month), road racing, or just general fitness. The women's track sessions will keep running during winter, and they'll include some endurance night training twice a month on Sundays, if you need a reason to sign up to track inductions. From the HHV women's newsletter: Keen to plan your training ahead of the 2020 season but not sure where to start? Want to improve specific areas of your performance? Or simply want to know a bit more about components of fitness, turbo sessions and training phases? This 2hr workshop will provide you with all the information you need to plan your own training and structure it toward the events you wish to focus on. In short, it's the all the useful information I learnt during my British Cycling Level 3: Coaching for Performance course, distilled from 9months into 2hrs. Bring a notepad, ask lots of questions and start planning for a successful 2020. The bar will be open, so you can have a beer or a coffee while we talk it all through. Only £2 for riders who attend the AssosLdn Women's Session beforehand, or £5 for everyone else. Please note: the ASSOSLDN Women's Session will run from 4pm-5.45pm on Oct 27th, so that we don't finish the Training Workshop too late.
