We’re in for organising another race the week after next – I've uploaded the draft plan of the course, the scope is limited as we can’t cross the tarmac but there are a few interesting new bits to make this a challenging course.
Planning the start to at the Substation, climb the MTB route and turn back down the Hoggenberg on the grass trail running aside the tarmac. The finish will be behind the Pavilion and the pits at the bottom end of it.
Michael Humphries has mowed most of the route out, I was up there on Friday, sadly there’s quite a load of stuff that needs doing to get it anywhere close to the standards we know, love and come have to expect…..
Saturday Course set up and preparation
I’m going to hire a fleet of lawn mowers, rakes and God knows what else for a sever bout of industrial gardening and course laying on Saturday, so need about 10 people to bash brambles, mow, rake n stake.
Sunday .
1. As always – early starts to have enough marshals for the kids races etc.
2. Comms feedback from Canada Heights was to appoint a single Chief marshal (who’s not going to race), so looking for a volunteer, can be anyone, the task is pretty straight forward and thousands of Kathryn points, raise and glory.
3. Everything is on site – so post-race help clearing up and putting away will be appreciated.
4. Kathryn will be chasing for volunteers – please don’t volunteer on her list if you intend to race, I really need marshals for the full day and you will get Kathryn points if you help on Saturday (x2) and Sunday clearing up.
Can you let me have a show of hands:
1. Who can help on Saturday
2. Volunteer for Marshall God (doesn’t have to be a club member – can be an enthusiast partner)
