James.. there was talk of power drift from the Power2Max unit. Maybe this was in the early days and has since been sorted out. Have you had any experience of this? Yeah power drift due to temp change was the earlier units, the new/current one has temp compensation built in, also it auto zeros when ever it detects a cadence of 0 with stable 0 torque for 3 seconds so you dont even need to re-zero it mid ride. I had some weird power readings early on but that turned out to be loosening chain ring bolts so changed to steel Shimano ones and no problems since.

In the end I opted to follow Ben Knapp's suggestion of getting the wheel built at Rat race cycles.
I bought the hub directly from Paligap (£700, new "cheaper" 2013 edition) who are the UK distributor, and took it down to Pete at Rat race cycles. I picked it up today and had the same configuration as Ben (A23 rim @ £45, 28 spoke @ £2 a spoke, £45 for a single wheel build), quite pleased with it.

How much does the wheel weigh?
...pointing the figure at my mobile device for any typos.

I don't have any scales that weigh things so precisely, but as it's the same build as Ben's wheels, it's presumably roughly the same weight - 955gm.

CycleOps g3 wheelset for sale. 9months old. £550
It's a 32spoke hub and could be rebuilt on to a set of stans for a great wheelset. the cycleops rims are a23 i believe. david

Hi David
I might want to grab this. Is it Shimano? Do you have a pic? And who built them - Pete?
Wouldn't mind a training wheel with a powertap.

Hi
They're the official CycleOps wheelset, so factory built. They're in great condition to be honest, but will try to get some pictures over the next few days.
The only reason for selling, is that I bought a new lighter wheelset with tubeless rims and a smaller spoke count. I didn't want to ride the Haute Route on heavy training wheels and also didn't want to be without power. I don't now need two ally rim powertap wheelsets.
