We need to start getting a bit organised for the team champs; on the basis that there were just under 20 Paragons racing in the mud at Bethlem last Sunday we ought to be able to muster 4 or 5 teams.
The course at Great Walstead is just that, Great, mixture of fields and woodland with some interesting bits to keep you on your toes- nothing too tricky, but if you want to hone your skills please come and join us and the youth on Saturday (leave the Velodrome at 9am back by 12.30)
Please reply if you're up for racing on the 1st Feb.

Don't forget the Paragonette who raced last Sunday! I'm super keen- but I need some more ladies to join. It clashes with our race training session which is not ideal- how many riders do you need in a team and I presume they can't be mixed? Cheers Beth

Yes can be mixed. A team's first 3 finishers count. Teams can be 3 or 4 riders.

Great thanks Kevin, I've only done one race but if you want me in the team I'm in. No worries if you want to post out the more experienced riders. Cheers, Beth

Good start, we have the basis for 2 teams, only another 2 to go.....
Jonathan Beth Kevin B Michael Andy P Dave Rees James Waddington Charlie
I'll do some arm twisting on some Juniors and few of the fair weather members.
Bill Wright advised me that this year we need to get a bit more organised and enter the teams in advance, so please bully and cajole those you meet

Hi Charlie, Do we enter on the day for these or in advance? How do we sort out who is in what team? Cheers Michael

Just found the entry system via RiderHQ.. www.riderhq.com/events/68210/lcca-team-cyclo-cross-championships/enterSo there are senior, vets & women categories. Do we have enough riders to enter a team for the old gits race? I see myself, Charlie and Andy P on this list.. Anyone else? I suppose we need to get this sorted out ASAP. If we don't have enough for the vets, then lets looks at an A & B senior team.

Count me in Charlie. I got the cross bike down from the loft yesterday, gave it some maintenance and headed down to W Wickham to hit the muddy trails of Keston Common. Good fun until I got stuck in a muddy bog, the rear mech wrapped itself round a spoke and got ripped off completely. I even got some running training in, hoofing it the few miles back to West Wickham where James at Le Bicycle worked some magic. I just need to get a new hanger that he wasn't able to completely straighten and I'll be good to go.

Hi guys, going to pull out of the Team Champs, had a 'mare yesterday, broken rear mech, buckled carbon wheel, snapped seat stay on my best X bike, 30 seconds after I swapped bikes.. Was lying 7th or 8th in the race at the Sumners Pond.. So bang went my chances of a decent finish in the League.
Looking forward to xc mountain bike racing in the sunshine!

That's a shame to hear James, as you were right up there in the league. Must have been a pretty big off to do that much damage?
How was the course?
