I have a new campy Centaur short cage 55m derailleur.
I have a 50/34 on the front and wonder if it will work with a centaur 12/30 or 12/27.
All forum post say no. The campy manual says that the short cage will work with any campy 10 speed cassette if there is a 50/34 crankset.
Any ideas?
work with a 50/34 and any

So the 12-30 would stretch it further by 2 teeth. Is there much clearance? At least that means the 12-27 would work.

Steve, I think 29 is the maximum amount of teeth you can get away with on a short cage Campag rear mech.

The 12-29 seems to be working fine with the short cage. Although I am getting some chain skipping that is normally associated with a stretched chain. However chain and cassette are both new.
