With great pride I announce another first - although he now wears some ghastly kit, Elliott this week has earned his 2nd cat licence and his name in the club history book as the youngest rider in the group to achieve this elevated status. He has put a lot of work and effort into this and it’s well deserved - Chapeau
Bravo to Ed, Luke, Titouan and Sean completing the overnight Dunwich Dynamo ride last week end, all of you strong to the last 200th km - but it must be said somnolent over breakfast.
Saturday 23rd July - Dulwich Footpath Hill Climb
A light hearted affair, open to all riders from DP, HHYCC and friends thereof. A Hill Climb is essentially a timed ride up a Hill, the hill in question is that ,‘orrible footpath up Sydenham Hill. As it’s about the only time you’re encouraged to ride on a footpath , in my book that’s a pretty reasonable argument for doing it.
Event starts at 2 pm opposite Sydenham railway Station (it’s the one half way up College Hill) and there are categories for every conceivable bike, road, fixed, mtb, cross and I would not be surprised to the HHYCC ‘reasonably priced’ bike, complete with pink tassels on the start line several times.
There’s a nominal £5 entry fee, prize giving, drinks, mirth and merriment in the Woodhouse Pub during and after the event.
Remember ride will is technically a competition so following required -
Helmets must be worn
BC Membership required
Entry fee
If your parents and guardians are not to be around to cheer you on - a signed TT Parent's Consent form - see attached.
Parents and Guardians - Please turn up and join in…….
There will be no youth or junior rides this Saturday - you are all encouraged to join us at the Hill Climb
Saturday Cross training sessions this year.
With the exception of the last few days we may as give up on Summer and look forward to the forthcoming Cross season. Next Saturday we will run the first of a series of Cross training sessions , either on Mitcham or Herne Hill. These adventures will be open to both youth and junior riders and will be tailored so that riders of all levels of fitness can benefit from them.
From about October we will be running some training session on Wednesday evening, again all will be welcome.
