Here comes the cross season! – Cross Training Saturday

True to form Titouan has signed off on a high, taking both the Junior prize at the Footpath Hillclimb and then winning the first round of the Summer Cross league last Thursday. I've no doubt the domination will continue in Provence and he'll keep us all updated! I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing him all the best for the future and look forward to seeing him in a solo break-away on the telly soon! Chapeau Titouan.
SATURDAY 30th JULY – Saturday Cross Training Session #1
It's official, summer is over... the nights are drawing in, there's a faint hint of a chill in the air and the 'Cross season is fast approaching once more. Great! So, this Saturday we will run the first of a series of 'Cross training sessions. This is open to both youth and junior riders and will be tailored so that riders of all levels of fitness can benefit from them. All you need is a cross bike or mtb.
Meet at HH Velodrome at 9.45am for 10am start and aiming for a 1pm finish. We will either be holding the session at the velodrome on the trails out back or ride round to Mitcham.
From about October we will be running some training session on Wednesday evening, again all will be welcome.
Remember ride will be on the road so normal pack drill required: -
Helmets must be worn
BC HHYCC and/or DP Membership required
Bring spare inner tubes that fit your bike
Wear suitable clothing for the weather
Money for emergency buns
Food and water
The name and telephone number of an adult who can rescue you on a PIECE OF PAPER in your back pocket.
Parents and Guardians - Please be contactable and available to rescue your charge should the need arise.
SUNDAY 31st JULY - Rd 5 of UCI Junior Series MTB Hadleigh
Slightly off track but here's your chance to see mtb 'gods' the likes of Nino Schurter, Jaroslav Kulhavý etc racing once again at the 2012 Olympic MTB venue. They're racing the Elite race at the Junior World Cup round at Hadleigh this Sunday – unfortunately Charlie couldn't get an entry in time but I'm sure it won't tarnish the event if one 'god' is absent from the startline!
