A select bunch out on the first of the seasons cross races down in Brighton, Ed starting the season with with a 2nd, narrowly beating Young Nutter. By all reports Luke had a stirling first few laps and Max Lawson is finding his feet in his new category.
Rides on Saturday 10th September
We will running a Cross training session this week, working on short hill climbs, descents and off cambers at Norwood Country Park. Session is open to all riders young and old riding Cross bikes or MTB’s.
Meet at the velodrome at 9.30, we will be finished by 1 pm. There are limited number of bikes for youths/smaller Juniors available to borrow for the session, if you need one, please arrive earlier. Junior and
Part of the ride will be on the road so normal pack drill required:
BC and HHYCC or DP membership required (unless this is your first ride)
Helmets must be worn
Spare inner tube
A full water bottle and some food
Money for tea and cake
Number of your parent/guardian/rescuer/responsible adult on a piece of paper.
If it’s your first ride - a signed Parental Consent form.
Note - you should be able carry all the above on your bike - we are only going a few miles down the road to a local park - not some elaborate jaunt in the countryside, rucksacks, picnics etc are not necessary.

Friday 9th September - Dulwich World’s Nocturn at Stratford
Road race to celebrate the end of the Summer Road season and the brief interlude before the start of the Winter Road road season - event starts at 19.00 and is open to Junior and Espoire DP members. It’s a case of turn on the day with at least a fiver to enter. It’s billed as a lighted hearted easy going affaire - so expect vicious and vigorous racing.
Open to Juniors and older.
By tradition, only last year’s winner is allowed to wear club kit for this race - please respect this as it does make the judging easier.
Evening Training from October 4th.
The evening road bikes on track training fests at the Velodrome will be starting on the 4th October. Note Jason's BC Cluster sessions will be on a Tuesday this year and the Dulwich Road and occasional Cross training session start on Wednesday 5th October.
Full details closer to the time - but all riders who wish to improve over the winter should be attending one of these evening sessions on a weekly basis.
