East Kent Cross league - well worth the trip to Sandwich for atypical Cross event, fantastic course with 54 text book corners in every lap - for the first time you could actually put into practice all those hints, tips and coaching points we have been banging on about adnauseum. Ed was certainly listening - pulling in a 1st in the juniors, Joe a 4th and Milo in a very creditable mid field place. Weldone the 3 of you.
By all reports, Will and Ed had fine battle at the Dulwich Nocturns on Friday evening , Ed narrowly edging Will out of first place…….
Finally - and curiously non bike related - I’d like to congratulate Will on his results - he’ll be joining Arnav in Cambridge Uni, and Duncan (remember him?) similarly good results leading him to Sheffield. Chapeau, good luck, and enjoy.
Rides on Saturday 17th September
Juniors - I’m aware many of you will racing on Sunday - so we will be leading a steady paced ride across a few of those hills and valleys you love so much. Part of the ride will be with the youth squad.
Youths - we’ll leading a ride out - normalish route - out towards Tatsfield and Downe.
Both rides will leave the velodrome together at 9.30 - the aim is for both rides to start together and we’ll see how it pans out……...
The ride will be on the road so normal pack drill required:
BC and HHYCC or DP membership required (unless this is your first ride)
Helmets must be worn
Spare inner tube
A full water bottle and some food
Money for tea and cake
Number of your parent/guardian/rescuer/responsible adult on a piece of paper.
If it’s your first ride - a signed Parental Consent form.
Sunday 18th September
Rd2 London Cross League - Penhurst.
I have ridden this course in snow, ice and deep quagmire - but never dry and hopefully warm - this will certainly be worth the trip down, if only to be able to claim to raced at Penshurst when dry hard and warm.
Evening Training
The BC cluster sessions will on Tuesday evenings - the first one on the 4th October, Dulwich Training (and evening Cross training) start on the 5th October.
Full details closer to the time - but all riders who wish to improve over the winter should be attending one of these evening sessions on a regular basis.
Calendar for this week:

Sunday: London League - Penshurst

Wednesday:DP Chain Gang
