Put it there (or what ever the modern parlance be) Ed Davies - a very well deserved first place in the Frylands CX extravaganza last weekend. Should be noted that Dave R came in second in the seniors, both well creditable results - respect is in order.
This weekend
Saturday morning:
Youth - There will be no youth ride this weekend - it’s the HHYCC Christmas party, mirth and merriment starts at 10 am and you are all encouraged to join in the fun.
Juniors Dave and I will lead a gentle paced road ride heading out towards Ide Hill and other places not visited for quite some time. Meet at the velodrome at 9 am, finishing at Cafe Paradou around 1 pm.
Parents/Guardians - You must be contactable and available to come and rescue your charge should the need arise.
The rides will be on roads so normal pack drill required:
- HHYCC and BC membership required (unless this is your first ride with us)
- Bring water bottle, some food, money, inner tube that fits.
- Wear suitable clothing for the weather
- The number of your rescuer on a piece of paper in your back pocket.
All this should fit into the pockets in your jersey - do NOT bring a rucksack or suitcase, you’re going on local ride - not on holiday.
Sunday 18th Round 4 of the East Kent League - Deal
Word on the street is that this will be a hilly course - in Thanet? Regardless such is its reputation that young Froggy Titan Titouan will be returning just to ensure Ed doesn't get too big headed…..
Alternatively - there is Christmas CX in Berkhamsted - new faces in the Central League dulwichparagon.proboards.com/thread/10719/happy-crossmass-sunday-18th-december
Mid week Evening Training
Tuesday Evening - BC Cluster Sessions
Start at 6pm and run through to 7.30 pm, this is a very well planned progressive series of ROAD bike training sessions on the track.
Wednesday Evening 7th Dec - Dulwich Paragon CX Session
An ‘Intermediate’ session, open to all Juniors and strong Youth riders who have been regularly riding with Dave and myself.
Races over Christmas
27th December - Beckenham Place Park
This is a new race - run by part of the Beastway Gang and should be well attended by those bored of the festivities - Google it for details.
1st January - New Year Madison XC at Herne Hill www.hernehillvelodrome.com/nycx/
For those over 18 - the ultimate hangover cure, for others - just serious good fun and not so serious racing, you need to enter as pairs and take it from there. If you can’t find a racing pal - just turn up anyway - you will get a race and have a lot of fun.
Calendar for this week:
Saturday: HHYCC Christmas Party - Junior Road Ride
Sunday: Deal or Berkhamsted CX
Monday:
Tuesday: BC Cluster Session - Velodrome
Wednesday:DP Road Bikes on Track - Velodrome
Thursday:
Friday:
