I’m planning to lead a ride to this year’s CX event. It’s the region’s preeminent CX race, organised by our very own Charlie Codrington, and huge fun to watch. Last year was a great success and we had a very healthy number of supporters. It would be nice to have the same again.....and there was talk of a beer tent this year (but that’s TBC). We’ll need LOTS of warm/dry clothing and sturdy shoes for the grassy slopes, so Charlie has kindly offered to take kit bags down in his van on the day before. He’ll be leaving HHV at 9am, so you can drop bags with him, or with me at home during the week prior (contact me to arrange) The ride will meet at Cadence at 8:45 for a 9:00 departure. Hopefully we’ll make it in time for the Junior Men and 50+ Vets at 11:50. After that we have Senior & Vet Women, Junior Women and Senior Men ridewithgps.com/routes/26250779https://ridewithgps.com/routes/26250779Getting home is via train from the nearby Hollingbourne Station, if you can’t catch a lift, or riding back! It would be very much appreciated if people could stay to the end to help pack up. Please post if you’re coming along Patrick

Um. I get an Error 404 message when I click on that link...
Am planning to be there, but will probably find my own way, rather than coming to CP first.

If you have never been to a Cross race - this really is the one to go to.
The backdrop of the 'Loveliest Castle in the World', barbequed burgers and hot dogs from the Herne Youth Catering Squad washed down by some of Canopy's finest bevvies will just add to fun of watching (and heckling) the racers tackling one of toughest courses in the country.
It's an almost Romanesque spectator sport and a great day, you're all welcome - get your Cow Bells out.

I've never been to a CX race before and would be up for this providing the weather is not atrocious. Will keep the date in the diary. Happy to help out afterwards as necessary.
Sorry if it's a daft question, but I assume that a road bike would be suitable for the ride there? It looks like it from the route but thought I'd double check!

Do consider a bag dropoff as it's nice to be warm and dry once you're there.

I was volunteering in the car park and I borrowed a pair of gloves from a kind gentleman (Eion?) but when I went to return them his car was gone (reg MA09 LGG). If you’re reading this please get in touch. Thanks. David
