This Sunday - 18th Feb - Gorrick MTB at Crowthorne - Woking. Gorrick are the veterans of organising MTB races, it's a friendly atmosphere, approachable course with nothing too scary. EOL but entry in advance advised.
Following Sunday 25th Feb - Mud Sweat and Gears at Hadleigh Farm - Benfleet. Held at the venue of the 2012 Olympic MTB races the course is one of the better ones in the South East. There are challenging bits but the B lines ensure that anyone reasonably capable will have a decent race. Entry in advance advised.

Hi Charlie any more MTB races that would be beginner friendly to consider over the coming weeks/ month or so?

Remember all MTB races have loads of categories either age, gender or skill related, there are a couple of races this weekend:
Bedgebury - Saturday 14th - well novice friendly, straight forward low key race on a staggeringly non technical course in the less interesting (arbitorially) parts of the National Pinetum. Bedgebury is near Goudhurst - just off the A21, EOL is available and reasonably priced
Mud Sweat and Gears - Stratford Velopark - Sunday 16th - Regional A category - but still open to all regardless of fitness or ability (just choose your race with more care). The course is not over technical, the B lines are straight forward - it's a fun local course. Note that on line pre entry closes Tuesday evening, EoL is available but at an eye wateringly high premium.

I'm heading to Beastway tomorrow evening, I'll be driving over from East Dulwich leaving about 5.30 I guess if anyone wants a lift.
Cheers
