Hi Chris
Many thanks for putting this together! I haven't got round to reading any of it yet, but I have to say that the design and layout looks great in this edition - it looks very professional - well laid out - good choice of fonts, pictures etc.
My only issue is with how the publication is displayed within the LucidPress plugin - the DP website layout is portrait, but the Paragon News layout is landscape - this means that when I load it in the website, it only shows the left hand page and half of each right hand page. I have to click the View Full Screen button to see the complete left and right hand pages.
My personal preference would be to provide a PDF option as well - the LucidPress plugin does provide a download button which allows you to download a PDF, but it would be good to have this already done and published on the website with a permalink.
Cheers
Jules

To expand on the above, when viewed on a phone, I can only see the left half of the LucidPress frame, which means that the View Fullscreen and Download as PDF buttons are not accessible.

OK yes I've added a PDF link on the page.
Although I though the Wordpress plugin allowed you to read PDFs online without downloading - I guess that's much the same as the Lucidpress viewer.

The new edition for Autumn 2018 is out and on the club website. www.dulwichparagon.com/index.php/paragon-news-autumn-2018/I've changed the PDF view so you should see it more easily on the website or on mobile devices. It's not as nice as the Lucidpress viewer but I just couldn't get that to display in the right format view.

I think it is great. Well done for putting in the time and effort. A good varied choice of stories, across the club.

Looks great but is the footpath hill climb really on a Wednesday 8th July?

Looks great but is the footpath hill climb really on a Wednesday 8th July? No, it's on the 18th. Plan your holidays accordingly.

Excellent newsletter Chris. It's worth pointing out that many clubs in the 1930s were male only - incredibly one long standing south London club didn't accept women members until the late 1970s. I'm going to plug Dave JB's excellent club history which covers the early years and with our prizegiving night coming up take a look at the prizes listed in the Paragon News for the AGM in 1938. A window on a bygone age......
- Cash voucher £5 (minimum weekly wage was about £1.75 at the time) - 50 cigarettes - Half a pint of beer with Percy Brown every Saturday in January. - Lunch in the City with Jimmy any day in January. - A cocktail with J. Starling at the Club Dinners. - A bath at Ivy Pascoe’s house any Saturday in 1938. - A glass of beer after dark with Claude Butler at Lewisham, once a week for a month. - A pint of Vitacream posted to any address.

It hasn’t been trailed, leaked or announced at a Downing Street press conference so it must be real news... Yes, the latest edition of Paragon News is out. You can see it all here: www.dulwichparagon.com/index.php/paragon-news-autumn-2020-2/And don’t forget to check the back page for our caption competition. Leave your suggestions in this thread - no prizes, just the glory of the world acknowledging your wit.

And here’s the latest edition… I like to think it was long awaited, but perhaps I flatter myself. www.dulwichparagon.com/index.php/paragon-news-summer-2021/As for E numbers, for those who’ve read it, I’ll start. I’m on 82 and another 6 rides of 83 miles will get me to 83. To put in perspective how much harder it gets to improve… I was on 75 in 2013.
