I’d like to come along on Wednesday. I’ve not done a chain gang and am keen to learn. Will you meet at Cadence again this coming week (Wednesday 23nd)? I will come to Cadence again before rolling down to Elmers End. A handful of others did the same this week.

Having managed to get free from work on time I’m unable to make tonight (22nd) due to illness I’ve been fighting the last few days - hopes it would be OK for today but sadly not. Please do not wait for me at cadence.

Thanks everyone for looking out for me earlier after my high speed crash with the deer on Clarks Lane. Safely back home now via the Uber. Thanks Debs for checking up on me. Helmet did the trick (again) but my left leg and lower back are a bit banged up. One or two other bits are now letting me know that they hurt too!!

Sorry, meant to ask how you are Steve (Steve Sorba also came down in the crash)?

Sorry, meant to ask how you are Steve (Steve Sorba also came down in the crash)? Glad to hear you're okay...scary thing to happen especially on that stretch! And how was the deer Simon?

I’m assuming it was ok as it ran off. I seem to remember hitting it twice, initially and then again when it bounced off the bank! We had a bit of a roll together and then I had a couple of bounces down the road! Finding road rash everywhere and my back is really sore this morning. Might get it checked at A&E.

Sorry, meant to ask how you are Steve (Steve Sorba also came down in the crash)? A bit battered and bruised but nothing broken. I have discovered that it is very difficult to position a plaster accurately on one's behind.

Oh deer! Shocker! Sounds nasty but that could have been worse. That’s really unlucky. I’ve never considered the risk of wildlife impact while bombing down Clark’s. Hope you guys heal up nice and quick.

As a further addition to the chaingang family from 15/05 I will lead a steady / beginners group. I’ll leave Cadence at 18:50 to meet at Elmers End for 19:00 - but may set off from there a bit earlier than the faster groups. Pace to accommodate all, though we will try to keep things moving reasonably briskly with minimal stops in order to not be out too late. If there are enough people we can practise through-and-off technique - otherwise it will just be a group ride. Last year we built up a regular cohort and by the end of the summer were managing a decent pace with very disciplined rotations. But this ride is all about getting people out - all welcome. Experience suggests that spare lights are a good idea Hi Joe, I am new to the club and chain ganging - I was wondering whether you would be leading this ride this Wednesday?

I’ll be there unless it’s raining, on the basis that: 1) 2 weeks ago it was a pretty miserable wet ride 2) I don’t want to risk crashing before the Velofete crit 3) I cleaned my bike yesterday (main reason!) But there is a bit of a regular group forming for these anyway.

Looking out the window and at the forecasts of 60% chance of rain with "yellow warning of thunderstorms" I'm not feeling 100% motivated for tonight.
