Reith lecturer, master potter, social commentator and life long cyclist. Grayson Perry talks about bikes and cycling.
“I've spent a lot longer on two wheels than I ever have in a dress. In this one-off talk for Sustrans, I will be talking about my almost spiritual relationship to cycling and making observations about its present-day culture.”
This should be a cracking one and I'm gutted I can't make it. I met Grayson back in 2003 when I helped to run the Beastway mtb races series which was held on what was still the old Eastway Cycle Circuit (when the Olympic Park was barely a dream for the future!).
Grayson used to make a ceramic end-of-series trophy for his age category. After he won the Turner Prize I think there were a few older guys desperately hunting around in attics and garages to track them down!
