As we've done previous years, I'd like to start riding Weds night chaingang steady pace; does anyone else fancy joining me? The emphasis of this steadiest group is cooperative group riding, working together in a chaingang to get the most out of the group as a whole. No-one will be dropped and if someone is unable to come through we all slow a little bit until the group is working well again (this is likely to be me at first so please bear with me). Previous years the group's average pace over the 50km course is about 23/24kph. It's still a hard workout, lasts about 2hrs or just over. People new to chaingang welcome; it's a great way to get the skills at a slightly steadier pace; just let us know you are new to it and we'll tell you all you need to know. If you shoot off the front we'll tell you too, if you keep doing it, we'll let you go rather than pull the group apart. We'll be doing the winter route until the evenings get lighter. Meet at Elmers End roundabout to set off at 7pm. I've started a whatsapp group for the steady chaingang, so if you're interested in joining us, please add yourself using this link. chat.whatsapp.com/H1SelaOu0U3F1c5G08K79WHere's the winter route. www.strava.com/routes/17209783(Thanks Steve/Martin) I'll be riding tomorrow (26th Feb) please let me know if you are planning on coming so I make sure I dont set off on my own. Anyone steady planning on riding tonight? If not I guess I'll do something a bit more local out west.
