I've got to start commuting in on CS7 on Monday up to Guys hospital (mat leave has ended) and so i was thinking a bike pollution mask might make it a bit safer at the lights when other cyclists try and get cosy with you. But I cant find any to be sold anywhere...all these new cyclists must have snapped them up 🙄. So long shot but does anyone know anywhere that has stock or anyone got a spare one knocking around I could take off your hands?

Unfortunately they are all out of stock...their website is especially annoying so you have to select every colour and then each size before it tells you that for each one!

Is this for pollution or to reduce risk of infection?

Is this for pollution or to reduce risk of infection? Reduce risk of me infecting others or them me when other cyclists or pedestrians come close at the lights and junctions. I have some surgical masks but these are no good for breathing when cycling.

I'm curious about how many people are still commuting up to town. I was quite fancying a ride around the city on empty roads.

I am currently trying to sew some masks that can be washed, fairly effective at preventing me spreading virus to others, less effective at protection but may be mandatory at some time-already are on the bus and in shops in Germany. I have been riding in town a fair bit. Roads were very empty but getting busier. I am learning to stop well back from lights, some cyclists are good at giving room, others less so. I guess it is more difficult at commuting times. Also finding roads preferable to shared use paths.

If enough interest maybe a club order for these? Milltag face masks and put some work Ed Cowburn's way and make an NHS donation to boot?

I have a few cloth ones from when i lived in China but they are a bit small for my big foreigner's nose. Great to have the skills/time to make them Jane...would be really interested to see what you've made.x

They look good dont they... couldn't see how to make an order though The minimum order is 50 units (or multiples thereof) and would be made by contacting Ed direct. Maybe the club could make a bulk order for customised DP masks?
