Coached Roadbikes & CX Training at Herne Hill Velodrome - Wednesday Oct 11 2020 - Wednesday February 10 2021.
As you might imagine things are a little different this year...
GOOD NEWS: ALL sessions (Roadbikes & CX) are FREE. BAD NEWS: BC / Covid-19 regs mean restrictions on the numbers of participants. Sessions led by TWO coaches will accommodate 28 riders, but only 19 allowed when it's just ONE coach. ALL CX sessions: 19 riders max, which will reduce to 11 when / if trails deteriorate. EVERYTHING subject to change at short notice.
You will need to sign on for roadbikes and CX via a Rider HQ link, which will be posted each week - this will specify how many riders can participate. It will be first-come, first-served. There will be NO PLACES available casually / on the night. As with the Sat / Sun clubruns, if you sign up then can't make it, you must withdraw via RHQ to release your place.
Base, Internediate and CX sessions will be coached by Jen George and / or Patrick Hawkins and Charlie Codrington. Advanced level coached by Elite Coaching.
Dates and session types for 2020 as follows
OCT 14 BASE / CX PH & JG / CC
OCT 21 INTERMEDIATE & CX JG & CC
OCT 28 ADVANCED / CX ELITE / CC
NOV 4 INTERMEDIATE / CX PH / CC

There may be dates when 2 coaches are available on the track - TBC in the weekly link. Otherwise assume it's 19 on the track and 19 CX:
Details for 2021 in due course.
BASE - for those new to riding on the track, those looking to improve levels of strength, stamina and becoming confident riding in a bunch. A good weekly workout in the safety of the floodlit velodrome. Intermediate riders can join if/when places are available, but speeds will be strictly controlled. You may be excluded from future sessions if you don't observe this.
INTERMEDIATE - suitable for the majority of members, who are keen to keep fitness over the dark months and build strength and endurance. Cat 4 racing licence holders may attend these sessions.
ADVANCED - suitable for E/1/2/3 racing licence holders ONLY. Stronger Cat 4's may be allowed to enter on application to the coaches.
CYCLO-CROSS - sessions using the perimeter grounds and trails of the velodrome. There will be a separate weekly RHQ sign-up for these.
REGISTRATION OF ALL RIDERS WILL BE CHECKED / CONFIRMED BEFORE EACH SESSION.
We do not know at this point if the Exodus Pavilion will be available, pre-session
All sessions run from 7.30-9pm.
Roadbikes ONLY. No track bikes, or TT rigs. No flashing lights. Bikes must be in good working order and any non-essential items should be removed (pumps, panniers or anything else that could fall off and cause an accident). Gloves must also be worn (HHV rule).
The all-weather surface at HHV means sessions can take place, except in extreme or icy conditions. Check forum / Twitter @dulwichparagon for on-the-day info. If it's wet PLEASE use mudguards.
