WEDNESDAY NIGHT ROADBIKES TRAINING - HERNE HILL VELODROME
Resuming on Weds October 13 2021. Catering for all abilities and needs, each coached session will help build stamina and confidence, and keep you fit during the dark months in a safe, traffic-free environment. There are Intermediate and Advanced sessions, and this year there are two women-only nights.
Block 1 runs until December 22nd and costs just £10 (sign up via the Rider HQ link below). However, the track limit is strictly 40 riders per session only and demand usually outstrips supply, so it's first-come, first-served each week. You must sign-on with name and emergency contact details (BC licence not required) in the Exodus Pavilion, from 7.15 pm. You must also be pre-registered as per the links on Rider HQ - and of course a current, paid-up DPCC member!
Intermediate sessions are suitable for all riders. There will be a short induction pre-session for those who've never ridden track before - and different speed-groups may operate during these sessions.
Advanced sessions are for riders holding BC Cat 3 licences and above only - plus any riders who Racing Secretary Arthur Tye feels is able to participate. Art's decision is final!
NB If you do these sessions you cannot do Intermediate nights.
All sessions are 90 mins - 7.30 - 9pm
Roadbikes only. No track-bikes, fixies or TT rigs. No aero-bars. Turn off lights & remove anything that might fall off your bike and obstruct the track. Fit mudguards if wet - you'll be riding in the wheels; a face full of spray is both unwelcome and potentially hazardous. You must also wear gloves of some sort (track rules)
The track is floodlit and the all-weather surface means sessions are only cancelled in extreme or icy conditions. Keep an eye on the forum / Twitter @dulwichparagon if in doubt.
All sessions are 90 mins: 7.30-9pm
Sign-up opens on Rider HQ tomorrow at 6pm > tinyurl.com/38kzt8d2
This year Cyclo-X training sessions will be held on Thursday nights, so no crises of faith...
