Spoke to Greg today and he is going to enquire about the Thursday night (2nd Mar). Friday and Sat are going to be problematic for those either riding Eastway or Wally Gimber. Thursday could be a compromise, but might reduce numbers slightly.

I think Greig mentioned that Thursdays, they have a free jazz night laid on, which would raise the atmosphere a bit without adding to the cost. Let's see what they come back with to Greig. Looked in today (whilst reconnoitering routes for a potential / prospective race) and it does look like a nice place.
We've had the SERRL cheque through now, so I can bring people's winnings to the club dinner.

Well, yes, it could be something like that. If the horrendous problems of the amount of parked cars and blocked in people can be overcome. We could use Sean and Claire's as the HQ...

Spoken to Robert from The Green , Thursday 2nd March is good for either half the main restaurant with jazz or all the private room without jazz, whatever our preference.

No probs for using 163 as HQ. Riders can get changed in the shed, as per Belgium.

Well done Greg. A Thursday wouldn't be a problem for me.
My preference would be for the dining room so we can listen to music and there will be more of an atmosphere. But it has been pointed out to me that other diners might not be best pleased to have their meals interrupted by our prize giving. What are the views of others?

When we've done this in the past (given away some pots in a restaurant) most people have been quite intrigued and enjoyed the local aspects (being the Dulwich Paragon, in a restaurant in Dulwich).
Of course, it does remind me, to remind eveyone who has a trophy, to bring it along on the night so we can give it to its new custodian.

Jazz, intrigue, confused diners. It's got to be the main restuarant area then. We'd better let the restuarant owner know about our pot awarding intentions beforehand though.

Just spoke to Greig. He is going to confirm the booking for Thursday 2nd March (£25pp for 3 courses). We are going to go for the main part of the restaurant so we can listen to the music. We are aiming for around 30, but might be able to this a bit if it looks like we need to.
Could people please start emailing me on philatlondon@aol.com to confirm their bookings.

Fantastic. I will plug it on the website and in the reminders/confirmations for club subs.
