So I picked up my new-old cross bike from near Crystal Palace and was about to get set to take the bike up to CSG when I discovered that I'd left my pedals that fit my shoes back at home. Maybe next week.

Saturday session #1 - eventful. Well, not really, but matt h managed to ride into a log (we were practising dismounts) snapping his right fork leg clean off. Mark was up for riding it back to palace in its monoblade format but fortunately no-one would net him. So matt got picked up (we hope!) and we carried on riding round the common practising a few starts en route. Hopefully everyone found it useful.

That was good fun. An excrement adventure.
I look forward to more of the same, plus a bit of wednesday night action.
I hope Matt made it home.

I was going to wheely Matt's pranger all the way home.
Very useful practicing the routines and a really varied terrain made for a good workout. Quite a few people were amused to see us crossing Streatham common en masse on 'racing' bikes and young Rapha lad Jake too when we emerged out of Mitcham common at the junction where he was waiting to cross.
More sµit next week

Man Alive, what fun that was!
Becky picked me up (absolute star!) after an hour of fear and trepidation hanging about by the Harvester on Mitcham Common.
My hip is absolutely killing now, initial shock must have numbed the pain. The first run on the logs, as I approached, i felt my right cleat stick., before i Knew it i was really close to the log i realised there was no chance of unclipping and went for a dive when the front wheel smacked the log dead on. Fork snapped clean in two. The rest of the bike is fine. I thought i was ok until i went to get in the car after sitting for 40 minutes.
Until then it was going so well. If i can get a new fork in time, I'll be back out for the next installment (obviously not next week due to club championships).
It now means when i get the new fork I have to re-calibrate the front frogleggs - the worse part of it all!
If i can work out how to post a pic, i'll stick one up of the bust fork
