I have ill advised several of you; the 2nd race in the LVYCC series at Hog Hill is next weekend (25th) not this coming one as I suggested. Null points to me.
To celebrate the end of the cross season and welcome the start of the mountain bike racing, I will be leading an off road ride, suitable for both cross and MTB, this Saturday morning. The route will run to the top of Layhams Rd, back towards Keston, Hayes Common and back via the back of the dog training station. Those who want to join but are without suitable bikes, let me know and I’ll see what can be found.
If mud doesn’t appeal, the normal road ride will be running, Juniors and under 16’s should aim to join the fastest intermediate group, younger riders the slowest intermediate group. Riders report to Dave JB or Gary McGowen.
All rides start at 8.45 at the velodrome and finish at Cafe Paradou approx 12.30-1ish. (Velodrome by 1 pm)
Rules for all rides:
• BC,DP/HHYCC membership required
• Helmets must be worn
Bring/wear/do
• Water-bottle
• Suitable clothing,
• emergency money,
• an inner tube that fits and works,
• energy bar
• the number of your parent/guardian/rescuer on a piece of paper in your back pocket,
• bike check on Friday evening at the latest
• parent’s consent form (unless you have given me one within the last 3 months
Parents/guardians/carers/rescuers- Please ensure you are contactable and able to collect your charge from anywhere on the route should the need arise.
