Under 10 and 12 races are normally 30 mins long
Under 14’s and 16’s 45 mins
Junior and 3-4 category adult races are approx. 1 hour
A word on age categories.
The cut off time is 1st January, so if you were under 14 on 1st January 2012 you race in the
U14 category all year. It follows thus if you were 16 on the 1st of January 2012 you are a
Junior. Juniors are now split in to the standard categories 1,2 3 and 4. As none of you have
raced you will all be 4th Cat Juniors. (All Juniors can generally race in any adult 3-4 or 4th
category only races)
Entry
Entry on the line (ie pay on the day) is available for all races (see event details for costs)
Lifts
If you need a lift please call Charlie (number below), ditto those that can offer.
Race Licences
Please ensure you have a valid race licence, day licences are normally available on the day
but are very expensive. The print out from BC is normally sufficient proof of licence.
Youth and Junior gearing
BC regulations regulate which gears you can or can’t race on, don’t worry too much, your bike will be tested and adjusted on the day. It's too late to do anything about it for tomorrow, but don't forget about the new club grant of £25 and loads of help from Balfe's Bikes getting your bike gearing sorted.
Club Kit
Regulations state that you should ride in your club colours, however lack of kit should not
put you off trying a race. If you don’t have club colours something plain will suffice.
Facilities
Hog Hill is one of the better racing venues, boasting not only a warm club room but
changing rooms, lockers and even hot showers- luxury. The canteen is well stocked with tea
and cakes.
