A friend of mine is thinking of buying her first road bike.
Can anyone help with sizing. She is 5.3 feet.
She's thinking of buying from ebay/second hand so if anyone knows of any good places to look then let me know
Cheers Dan

Try these websites for sizing. They're pretty good for getting at that first approximation of someone's cycle size. Both produced outputs that were within a few millimetres of my Cyclefit sizing session results. www.wrenchscience.com/www.competitivecyclist.com/However, as more experienced cyclists on this Message Board will tell you, cycle sizing is a bit of a black art, complicated by compact and traditional bike frame sizing.

I'm 5'5'' and ride a 44cm Cannondale with ickle 650 wheels and 48cm audax bike with grown up 700 wheels. The cannondale was sized for me by cyclefit and fits perfectly. The audax bike is a little large and I have to be very careful with toe overlap.
In spite what most men say, I'd definitely recommend 650 wheels. The disadvantage of limited tyre and tube choice are far out weighed by better bike handling and comfort. Just watch me whip round the corners at palace.
