Palace, I think you'll all agree has been a great success so far. Great racing across all categories and an unprecedented turn out in the recent Women's race. Top stuff, and with a promising forecast for next week.....
It is of course no accident and a lot of effort went in over the winter to maintain the 'feel' of Palace and yet make it easier to run and administer. This we believe we have achieved.
Here's the rub. A few individuals now find themselves locked into the process and on occasion covering double the amount we envisaged. This is no ones fault although we need to find a solution. We always knew that the running would require a 'core' of keen people and we hoped it would organically grow given the size of the club and its racing presence so that every couple of weeks the key roles would have new blood.
The roles are not difficult, and given Bob R's incredible belt and braces approach the set up could not be easier.
So, for the remainder of the series we need to fill the key roles with new faces. It won't matter if we are oversubscribed with DP liaisons or senior sign on or course set up as the shared experience will go a long way to securing the future of Palace.

Andy - It has been brilliant this year and shows how great the club is but I agree, it is the same hard working faces doing the leg work. I am as guilty as others in not stepping in thus far. I am happy to skip racing a couple of weeks to do my bit and I am sure others will as well.
And let me say thanks again to the core group making the racing happen every week. It is greatly appreciated.
Ben

Thanks for the response all. I'll be in position (DPL) on Tuesday at 17:30 so interested parties can join me and see whats involved. Its my last week of early availability so I'll need to hand it over for the next few races.
Sign on and finish line duties are also needed although removing a stuck bus, whilst a notable skill, shouldn't be required.

I'll be there to lead the sign-on tomorrow - but I'll be away next Tuesday 9th. Jeremy Beswick stepped ably into the breach last week but I've no idea if he's available for next week (...but great if he is /you are) Sign-on requires a couple of senior club members - one to lead on sign-on, one to run the EOL desk - with two others to assist. Need to be there by 1745 to lay out sign-on sheets, organise numbers etc, as sign-on opens at 1800. Maybe time for one or two of the regular DP racers to take a lap out and do some office work...?

I'm very happy to do the sign-on for Tue 9 July. After that, I'll be out of London for the rest of the CP crits.
