This just in - if anyone has an old bike they'd like to donate, please get in touch with Sarah directly (not me!) Hi there,I'm writing from The Bike Project, a small charity in Hackney where we refurbish second-hand bikes and donate them to destitute refugees and asylum seekers. In opening up cycling to our visitors, this can help facilitate them access to resources that may lift them out of poverty. We rely completely on donations of second-hand bikes, and at the moment demand is almost overtaking supply! We recently organised a two day drop-off and collection from a school in North London which worked well, and got me thinking about cycling clubs (with a ready-made network of cyclists!)I was wondering whether we might work together with your club and network of members to promote our charity as an option for any unused bikes you may have, or even to organise a drop-off and collection event? Please do be in touch, and many thanks for your time.Best Wishes,Sarah Morpurgothebikeproject.co.uk/07506808085
