On Tuesday night, one Matt Seaton (Rapha/Condor) featured (that is: lapped me many times). Does anyone know if he the same Matt Seeaton who wrote "The Escape Artist: Life from the Saddle "? R.

The thing I noticed with the book is that the typography is set in a style that imitates traditional continental typesetting conventions, using em dashes to mark the beginning of speech, rather than quote markes that are used in Anglo-American texts. And the font used is Fournier, a design that is in the style of typefaces typically used in French printing.
I thought it was a deliberate, though subtle, allusion to the way some roadies like to wear foreign retro kit, presenting cycling (or a book about cycling in this case) as something slightly different to the norm: obscure, foreign, exotic.
