What a great win by our very own Ben Knapp in the E12 race last night. From the finish line the last 300 metres looked touch and go and Ben managed to avoid premature celebration syndrome. Fantastic stuff!

Nigel, is there a Hall of Fame for all the Dulwich riders that have won the E12 race?

Nigel, is there a Hall of Fame for all the Dulwich riders that have won the E12 race? Now then, settle down, we're going to be here for quite a while... I'll start at the beginning... I think it might have been Proust who said "a Palace attack containing Matt Seaton with less than 5 laps to go is doomed to fail". I was 16, if I recall correctly, when I got my first roadbike etc etc.... cont'd page 94 So glad a DP has ended the 8 years of hurt since the last E12 win. I'd carefully planned a repeat performance in the 3/4s last night, but found the final 22 laps really quite taxing.

I'd love to have read a few pages of those memoirs Dave!
There is so much (recent-ish!) history in our club that we newer members have no idea about, I'd love to hear more stories of your feats, Bobs, Nigels and the MANY others.
As to last night, there is no one more shocked than me. For the record that is an exhausted half arse bike throw on the line as I was not sure just how close Tom Hargreaves and the Dynamo boys were to my wheel. Not enough time or energy left for any gestures...
There are much stronger riders in the club than me at the minute and I doubt we've seen the last Dulwich win for the year at our home circuit.

Well done Ben, brilliant to get a win on home turf. And how about those socks! #sockdoping

At least the socks are white - even if he does look like a renegade from the ABL...
Actually we came very close to a clean sweep in the Men's events with Andy Brown taking a highly creditable 2nd in the 3/4s.

I should hope not.
Eddie Wingrave, who ran Palace for 50 years, and is sadly no longer with us, would think nothing of disqualifying anyone who took their hands off their bars, even if they'd just won the race. In fact, especially if they'd just won the race.

I'd echo that and absolutely chuffed for you Ben. Perfectly timed attack. And great to hear the shouts of encouragement - from both spectators and riders behind - as you passed through the last two corners to give us the most widely celebrated Palace wins I can recall.
There was mention of #sockdoping. Add to that the #NewAeorHelmetDoping.

Great photos Jeremy Pearce - did you take any others on the night? Are they up at all?

Great photos Jeremy Pearce - did you take any others on the night? Are they up at all? Thank you Ben. Yes, I have quite a few photos from Tuesday night. Aim to sit down this afternoon after the club ride and go through them. Will then post a Flickr link when complete.
