There were an awful lot of you riding for your various boroughs in the London Youth Games last Saturday, Titouan rode the 6th fastest TT in the Youth A/B category, however he should watch his back as Oliver pulled in the 15th place in the Youth AB, pretty awesome result bearing in mind he has 3 more years in that category.
Joe should be applauded for his strong ride at Palace this week, after a few shenanigans he kept with the bunch narrowly missing his first top ten result in the series. Next week…….
Saturday 11th July, Off road ride to Toys Hill
I haven't checked the forecast, but it's summer so it is going to be a fabulous day on Saturday, perfect for another longish off road trip. This weekend we've planned a circular route taking in the woods along the ridgeline between Toys and Ide Hills.
Expected riding distance will be around 35 to 40 miles, so the ride is suitable for stronger youth and all juniors/espoires. Meet at the velodrome at 9 and we should be back at Paradou in time to get the last sitting for lunch (approx 2pm).
It is important that you heed the following:
BC & HHYCC/DP membership, wearing helmets, full water bottle, some snacks and money to buy coffee and essential buns are necessary.
This will be a long off road ride with great potential for punctures and other assorted mechanical failures, we will at times be some distance from helpful bike shops so please check your bike over carefully and bring a spare inner tube, pump and multitool.
Bear in mind the distance to be covered and the weather. Do not bring endless unnecessary stuff with you, you are going on a 4 hour ride in South East england, not on holiday on some deserted island - no over large rucksacks permitted.
Parents/Guardians and Carers are welcome to join the ride, however should this concept not appeal, you need to contactable and available to collect your charge should the need arise or be able to collect your charge from Clapham Junction Railway Station.

Dave and I are especially keen to enter one or teams to this highlight in the MTB calendar held on the 30th August. Full details on the Gorrick website, event is open to those 16 plus. If you want to try a decent challenge let either myself or Dave know as soon as, we need to enter teams well in advance.
Cross training rides
We will be heading back to Mitcham from mid August to hone those Cross skills. Those of you spent the summer on the road don’t discard Cross as a way of keeping some base fitness over the winter.
