Hi. I'm going to my first session tomorrow. Could anyone please advise me whether I should bring a spare tyre as my turbo really flattens my tyres out, so I have a spare wheel set up for it - although I haven't actually used it for a year or so. Are the turbo trainers used at these sessions as hard on the tyres? What do people do?
Thanks James

I usually ride over on a spare wheel with a slick (old) tire, but only if it isnt raining as is very slippy otherwise. Last year I used my four seasons each week on the turbo only at these session and by the end (so say 20 session) the tire was pretty screwed with all the threads coming out, so yes, better to use a spare wheel / tire if you have one. See you tomorrow!

I used my usual tyres last year and didn't notice any additional wear (although maybe I wasn't working hard enough!)

That's good to know. It might be my turbo. It's a cheapo one and the instructions say to tighten the spinny resistance thing very hard against the rear wheel.

I had the same experience as Jess - no additional wear to write home about. Enjoy tomorrow's session, having done it on Monday I don't envy you...

Is anyone likely to be unable to fulfil their place this coming Monday (18th Jan)? I missed out on booking this block but would really like to restart training if possible. Please message me if so.
Thanks!

Thanks! Hi Pete, I'm now not going to make this session so there will be a free place. Not sure Paul is allowing swaps so you might have to pay but my place is available. Jess

I don't think either block is fully booked.

A good turbo session tonight, which hopefully cancelled out a few Easter eggs! See you next Monday, those who will be there, Jess Letters...
