Rides and races this week -
Saturday 19th – Road ride from the Velodrome
I’ll be leading a steady road ride out this week, heading out towards Ide Hill and so forth. This ride will be suitable for those who perhaps have not ridden for sometime and need to start rebuilding their rtraining.
Meet at the velodrome at 8.50 the ride will be back at Cafe Paradou approx 12.30.
The ride will be on roads, so normal rules and pack drill:
Helmets must be worn
BC HHYCC and/or DP Membership required
Bring spare inner tubes
Wear suitable clothing for the weather
Money for emergency buns
Food and water
and if it’s your first ride with us a signed parental consent form.
Cyclo Cross London League Rd 2 - Sunday 20th Hog Hill
Hosted by London Phoenix, a club that generally knows how to put on a decent race this is a race not to be missed. See website for details.
Cyclo Cross training Ride - Next Saturday 26th September
Continuing our alternate weeks trip off road, advance warning, we will be running a Cyclo Cross training ride AND I will have access to some BC Cross Bikes for those without a Cross Bike - if you need to borrow one, please let me know as soon as possible.
Winter Mid Week Training Sessions
There will be 2 evenings of road bike training on the track at Herne Hill. It is absolutely vital that any rider that wants to race successfully in any discipline next year makes every effort to attend either of these sessions on a regular basis throughout the winter.
Dulwich Paragon Chain Gangs on the track - Wednesday Evenings starting 7th Oct, these sessions are suitable for strong youth riders, Juniors and Espoires, and will be coached/lead by myself, Steve Sorba and Paul Mills. Start at 7 pm and you’ll be through by 9pm. These sessions are open only to DP and HHYCC members.
British Cycling Cluster Sessions - Thursday evenings starting 8th Oct- Run by Jason Catemole aided by other coaches from various clubs, open to youth and Junior riders. These sessions will start at 7 pm and run through to 9, there will be a nominal fee per session.
New Saturday rides for Riders aged 12 to 14 years
From early October, Geoff Nutter and Mark Hindley will be leading regular weekly rides for members who do not have the speed and stamina of the older Junior and Espoire riders. It’s proposed that these rides will leave the velodrome at 9 am and will be back at Cafe Paradou around 12.30. More details to follow.
