One of the bigger and better cross races last Sunday at Herne Hill, Oli put together the fine course upon which a load of your rode with considerable effect. Special mention to Max for his 1st place narrowly beating Joe Blackmore in the Youth B race, meanwhile Titouan earned a 2nd, Eddie a 4th and Luke not far behind in 8th.
In the Seniors, both Pat and Elliot dipped their toes in the muddy waters for the first time - from the grins on their faces when they finished, they enjoyed……….
Titouan is racing in the National Cross series in Southampton this weekend - Bonne chance mon ami.
Saturday 10th – Road Ride and Hill Climb
This week’s road ride will incorporate the Dulwich Paragon Serious Hill Climb in reality a climb of approx 1.2 km up Star Hill.
As with all Time Trial events, lie ins are not encouraged, the event starts at 10 am - sign on at 9.30 at Knockholt Village Hall.
This means our ride will have to leave the velodrome by 8.45 sharp. We’ll ride a direct route to the sign on, after which we’ll return to Paradou in a leisurely fashion.
All those under 18 will have to bring along a signed TT Parents Consent form (attached) and I believe there is a nominal £ 3 or £ 5 entry charge.
This ride will be on roads, so normal rules and pack drill:
Helmets must be worn
BC HHYCC and/or DP Membership required
Bring spare inner tubes
Wear suitable clothing for the weather
Money for emergency buns
Food and water
Sunday 11th October Round 5 London League or MTB with Gorrick
For the lesser mortals - a choice, Cross at Happy Valley near Brighton or MTB at Firth Hill.
Winter Mid Week Training Sessions have started
Wednesday Evenings - Dulwich Paragon Chain Gangs on the track - these sessions are suitable for strong youth riders, Juniors and Espoires, and will be coached/lead by myself, Steve Sorba and Paul Mills. Start at 7 pm and you’ll be through by 9pm. These sessions are open only to DP and HHYCC members and are free.
Thursday evenings: Run by Jason Catemole aided by other coaches from various clubs, open to youth Under 14, Under 16 and Junior riders. (ie born between 1998 and 2003) Run as series these sessions will build on speed and complexity as the season progresses, so regular attendance is very important. Sign on opens at 7 pm, ensure you’re signed on by 7.15, you’ll be finished by 9 pm. There is a £3 levy for each session. Please bring along a signed parental consent form. These sessions will start at 7 pm and run through to 9, there will be a nominal fee per session.
