Blimey you lot - you’re all getting rather good - Max and Amelia each winning in their categories, Eddie in 4th and Luke gained his best result of the season - coming in 5th in Youth A, Freddie Argent earned his place in this role call of fame - 5th in the Juniors. 5 entrants all finishing in the top 5 on a 'dull' course - can't complain.
Actually the course was anything but dull, not a lot of single track granted but a very cleverly set course on what at first sight looked like a featureless playing field - one of the tougher courses in the series.
At the Nationals in Southampton - Joe Blackmore finished in the points and Titouan in the mid field, both damn fine results for a National series race.
and - that’s not all - Elliot won the Junior Category of the Dulwich Hill Climb on Saturday, Luke in 2nd with a phenomenal time followed by new boy Pat and Eddie. FYI I’m fastest old man up a hill...enough said.
So well done the lot of you……..
Saturday 17th – Magical Mystery Off road ride
Dave will be leading this mystery ride this Saturday - according to his posting on the Dulwich forum all you need is a Cross or MTB bike and a sense of humour………..which is code for going somewhere deep into the outback somewhere between Woldingham and Bromley.
So meet at 9 am at the Velodrome in a cheery mood - returning for chips and coffee at Paradou around 1.30.
Part of the ride will be on roads, so normal rules and pack drill:
Helmets must be worn
BC HHYCC and/or DP Membership required
Bring spare inner tubes
Wear suitable clothing for the weather
Money for emergency buns
Food and water
Sunday 18th October Round 6 London League Cross Foulmead - Deal
The antithesis of last week’s round, normally loads of single track and exciting bits and pieces - well worth the hassle getting down there. details on the website
Thursday 22nd Le Grand Prix de Peckham
We have all been encouraged to join DeLaune CC in their Rollapaluza fest on Thursday. For those who are not sure - Rollapaluza is the pinnacle of turbo training, teams of 4 join the challenge, each team mate pedal for a certain ‘distance’ on souped up turbos against the clock - fastest team wins.
Bill has assured me the prizes are huge and the evening will be fun, let me know if you want to form a team together (or do it among yourselves). Details here www.delaunecc.org/GP%202%20i.pdf
