A reasonable number of you made the pilgrimage to Deal encountering one of the first muddy courses of the season. Still didn’t stop that Titouan pulling off a second place with some creditable lap times, closely followed by Ed, who is putting in some increasingly respectable times and achieving steady results.
Amelia notched up a second place in the girls while supporting her big bro - welcome back Hazza, matched by Joe again 2nd in the Youth B’s. Ollie took a supporting role.
Saturday 24th – 2 Road Rides
This Saturday we’ll be leading 2 road rides, each catering for riders of different levels, broadly split between Youths and Juniors.
Youth Ride: this ride will be lead by Geoff and Mark and broadly follow the standard Dulwich Paragon Saturday route, ie Velodrome>Crystal Palace>Annerly>Elmers End>West Wickham>Layhams>Beddlestead Hill>Tatsfield>Cudham>Downe>Keston>West Wickham and back to Cafe Paradou on the top of Crystal Palace Hill. This ride will be suitably paced for riders aged between 12 and 14 who have not ridden with us on a regular basis.
Junior Ride: lead by Dave, Max and myself, we’ll take a longer route at a faster pace, suitable for all those who have ridden with us regularly.
Both rides will finish with coffee and chips at Cafe Paradou on Crystal Palace Parade - so do bring some money.
Both rides start at the velodrome at 9 am sharp - please come prepared and check your bike over before turning up on Saturday morning. It’s mandatory that your gears and brakes work and that there is sufficient air in your tyres.
For several of your this will be your first ride out on the roads, we have few rules but each is important:
Helmets must be worn
BC HHYCC and/or DP Membership required
Bring spare inner tubes that fit your bike
Wear suitable clothing for the weather
Money for emergency buns
Food and water
Signed Parental Consent form
The name and telephone number of an adult who can rescue you on a PIECE OF PAPER in your back pocket.
Parents/Guardians, please ensure you are contactable and available to collect your charge should the need arise.
Sunday 25th October Round 3 London League Cross-Addington

22nd November - Cyclocross World Cup - Koksijde - Belgium
We're planning a trip to the third round of the Cyclocross World Cup is at Koksijde in Belgium on 22nd November 2015. This is one of the 'monuments' of euro-cyclocross and also one of the easiest races to get to from the UK. The challenging course and unique nature of the location make for an amazing atmosphere plus it's a chance to see the world's best cross'ers doing battle (and struggling) in the sand dunes. It will also be one of the last chances to see 'cross-god' Sven Nys before he retires.
It will be an all day trip, early start, drive to Belgium, watch the Gods do battle and be back in London late in the evening - let Dave know if you’re interested.
