Bit of a result in the Youth B , Max gaining a 1st place, Joe the younger a 2nd. Titouan in second to Ben Tulett in the Youth A, another sound result - he’s gradually closing in on Ben - must be something to do with his new kit. Ed thrashed his nemesis of Addington by a significant margin again claiming his beloved 5th position. Olli and Luke finished with some creditable results. Again, bravo the lot of yer.
November 7th Youth and Junior Off road rides
We’ll be running 2 off road rides this Saturday, both the yOuth and Junior rides will set off together, the Juniors splitting along the route to do a longer and faster bit.
The rides will be suitable for Cross and MTB bikes.
I have 1 BC bike available to borrow for the ride, let me know if you want to borrow it for the ride.
Meet at 9 am at the velodrome for a 9.15 start, we will be back at Cafe Paradou around 1 pm.
For several of your this will be your first ride out on the roads, we have few rules but each is important:
Helmets must be worn
BC HHYCC and/or DP Membership required
Bring spare inner tubes that fit your bike
Wear suitable clothing for the weather
Money for emergency buns
Food and water
Signed Parental Consent form
The name and telephone number of an adult who can rescue you on a PIECE OF PAPER in your back pocket.
Parents/Guardians, please ensure you are contactable and available to collect your charge should the need arise.
Sunday 8th November - London League Cross Rd 8 Penshurst
It’s a great circuit and in the past has been more technical than recent races. Penhurst is difficult to get to on public transport - if you need a lift - ask.
Thursday evenings: British Cycling Cluster Sessions, run by coaches from all the local clubs these sessions are aimed at Youth A and B category riders. Sign on opens at 7 pm, ensure you’re signed on by 7.15, you’ll be finished by 9 pm. There is a £3 levy for each session. Please bring along a signed parental consent form.
Saturday 14th November Rapha Super Cross Series - Rd 3 Kings Cross
I think the entry is now closed - this will be a cross race worth watching, the trail features are being designed by Art students from St Martins, so if you failed to enter, plan to come along and watch us.
We will not be running a Junior ride on that day as both Dave and I are competing.
Sunday 15th November - MTB Gorrick Enduro
These 2 hr MTB races are open to riders aged 14 to 17, with no London League Cross that weekend, it’s one to look at. Be warned, there is no entry on the line and the races do sell out.
22nd November - Cyclocross World Cup - Koksijde - Belgium
We're planning a trip to the third round of the Cyclocross World Cup is at Koksijde in Belgium on 22nd November 2015. This is one of the 'monuments' of euro-cyclocross and also one of the easiest races to get to from the UK. The challenging course and unique nature of the location make for an amazing atmosphere plus it's a chance to see the world's best cross'ers doing battle (and struggling) in the sand dunes. It will also be one of the last chances to see 'cross-god' Sven Nys before he retires.
There has been a deal of interest in this and space is filling up fast, if you’re interested talk to Dave R as soon as.
Race Calendar
Sunday - London League Rd 8 - Penshurst
Monday -
Tuesday -
Wednesday - Dulwich Chain Gang on the track
Thursday - British Cycling Chain Gangs at Herne Hill
Friday -
Saturday - Rapha Super Cross - Kings Cross
Sunday - Gorrick MTB Tunnel Hill
Details of all races can be found on the British Cycling website, Rider Hq or the Dulwich Forum.
