Both Ed and Titouan faired well in their second battle with the Titans in last week’s National race in Ispwich. Both understandably found the pace and skill level of the other riders considerably higher than that seen in the London League - both finished with results they should be proud of.
Saturday 5th December Road Ride
NOTE NEW START TIME FOR ALL RIDES - 9.30 at the Velodrome
We’ll be leading 2 seperate road rides this weekend, Mark and/or Geoff wil be leading a youth ride (12 to 14 years) and we’ll be taking the Juniors off to explore some impossibly far flung corner of Kent.
So meet at the new time of 9.30 (I may even be on time) and both rides will finish with chips and coffee at Cafe Paradou on Crystal Palace Parade at about 1 pm.
This will be a road ride so normal pack drill:
Helmets must be worn
BC HHYCC and/or DP Membership required
Bring spare inner tubes that fit your bike
Wear suitable clothing for the weather
Money for emergency buns
Food and water
The name and telephone number of an adult who can rescue you on a PIECE OF PAPER in your back pocket.
6th December - Regional Champs at Hog Hill - Cross
Hopefully a damn good race - alas there is no entry on the line and entries have closed.
Wednesday 9th December - Dulwich Beginner Chain Gang
Wednesday evening road training session for beginners so suitable for Junior riders. Starts at 7pm until 9
Thursday 10th December British Cycling Cluster Sessions
Run by coaches from all the local clubs these sessions are aimed at Youth A and B category riders. Sign on opens at 7 pm, ensure you’re signed on by 7.15, you’ll be finished by 9 pm. There is a £3 levy for each session. Please bring along a signed parental consent form.
If you’re an aspiring HHYCC racer over 12 - it’s important you attend these sessions. If you need to borrow a bike please let me know well beforehand, I can’t always get to every session.
Dulwich Paragon Skin Suits if you want one - order now
Message from Dave (who knows about these things) ‘If any of the youth want a skin suit, they need to register their interest ASAP with us so we can pass on numbers to him. Long and short sleeve versions should be available - do note the short sleeve FRC skinsuit tends to come up a size smaller than the other FRC kit. So if a M in FRC jersey and shorts, a L may be prudent’
Don’t expect Santa to have them in time - but register your interest in the Dulwich kit shop on Rider HQ pronto - these things are like gold dust and cause as much trouble. Remember to claim your youth discount.
